As a toddler I discovered expression through movement; as a teenager, I skated. Living in New York, I sought out every style of dance I could find, taking classes and going to performances. In dance, your own body is your medium. There are no brushes or tools: you are everything. It demands great physical discipline and a focused way of life, and the privilege of living as a performer must always be appreciated, because it is so ephemeral. Bringing spoken word and site specificity to physical expression immerses viewers in a parallel world, where what we take for granted can be seen through a new lens.

Things That I Know Are Not True

An immersive site specific experience, an astounding tour through the property through which the audience entered into various impactful and dramatic scenes, sparking new life into the space and the hearts and minds of all present. Across seven distinct locations, the dancer and actors fully immersed themselves in abstract short stories surrounding the subconscious within both relationship dynamics and the self. This piece explored several deep themes, including a personal navigation of love, self knowledge, and unintended harms.
