Movement trail

Drawn in the language of my 1995 movement drawings: this moment is a solid black figure, the moment just before is grey, the past is drawn in cream outlines that fade as they go back, and what is ahead is dashed. A thin ochre line holds the space the body has moved through.

Choose which seconds to use. Drag Start at to find the moment in the video above.

Shoulder slice–
Waist slice–
Hip slice–

Each strip stacks one slice per frame, time running down, lined up with the drawing above. The ochre row is this moment. The percentage is the slice's width compared with its widest in the clip: when the torso turns away from the camera, its slices narrow.

The demo is an 8-second solo from Tribu, traced from the video frame by frame. Body detection uses a small matting model that runs on your device and separates the person from everything behind them, even with a busy background or a moving camera. Background difference is the older, faster method and only works with a fixed camera. Nothing is uploaded. You choose which seconds to use; slow motion reads 30 frames a second and plays back at a quarter speed; the first run takes a moment while the model loads.
